It started in 1901 with a patent for a corn crushing and cutting machine that was granted to J.S. Bloom of Winthrop, Iowa. The current direction for the company has an emphasis on the design and manufacturing of industrial and mobile hydraulic winches and speed reducers under the BLOOM Winches and LIFT-SAFE Winches trademarks.
